Marine biologist
Duties and
responsibilities:
1. Marine biology is the scientific study of organisms in the ocean or other marine or brackish bodies of
water. Given that in biology many
phyla, families and genera have some species that live in the sea and others
that live on land, marine biology classifies
species based on the environment rather than on taxonomy. Also is the
scientific study of organisms in the ocean or other marine or brackish bodies of water. Given that in biology many phyla, families and genera have some species that live in the sea and others that live on land, marine biology classifies
species based on the environment rather than on taxonomy. Marine biology differs from ecology as marine
ecology is focused on how organisms interact with each other and the
environment, while biology is the study of the organisms themselves.
1.
Salary: The average
salary of a Marine Biologist is $77,630.
Salaries start from$39,700 and
go up to $124,680. Please
note that the average salary for a Marine Biologist may vary depending on
several factors, like level of education, amount of experience, industry,
company size and location.
Education: The Bureau of Labor Statistics projects that demand for zoologists and wildlife
biologists, a category that includes marine biologists, will grow by only 7
percent between 2010 and 2020. That's slower than the average predicted across
all occupations. Many marine biologists are employed by the various levels of
government, and opportunities will fluctuate with their budgets. Aquaculture is
a growing industry, and marine biologists will be required to refine the
process of fish farming, suggesting processes to ensure better growth and
healthier fish. Research firms, governments and nongovernmental organizations
will also require marine biologists to monitor and track environmental impacts
on marine life
Reflection: this is the
type of job I’ve chosen because it’s a job where you can be outside and it your
job to be outside. Instead of being in a cubical I would like to work in the
kind of field. I do feel good working as a marine biologist just cause of
outside work
